Maluhia Hospice Care, PLLC is a nurse-owned and operated hospice agency dedicated to providing end of life care for the terminally ill. “Maluhia” is a Hawaiian word that means “peace, quiet, security, tranquility and solemn.” As Maluhia is a practice of peace and tranquility, we wish to bring our best care for you and your loved ones in need during a time of difficulty. We took this word as a driving force to envision the type of care that we provide for our patients and families that are involved in the care.

Hospice is a special care that provides comfort care when aggressive treatment is no longer an option. Our interdisciplinary team consists of a physician nurse, social worker, chaplain, hospice aide, volunteer, and pharmacist. Our goals are to keep you as comfortable as possible, and to address any physical, psychosocial, emotional, spiritual, nursing, and bereavement care you may require, as well as the needs of your loved ones.

Philosophy:

We recognize dying as a natural, inevitable process. When the curative therapy is no longer effective, we seek neither to hasten nor prolong the dying process. Our team believes that palliative care and sensitivity to an individual‘s needs will allow dying patients to experience full and rewarding lives until death. While supporting family and caregivers during the patient’s illness and assist them after the patient’s death through the bereavement program. Affirms life and regards dying as a normal process. Neither hastens nor postpones death. Provide relief from pain and other physical distressing symptoms.


Hospice Team

Primary Care nurse

Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The nurse who will coordinate your care and handel any nurseing needs. the role of the nurse is to help [revent and relive pain and other symptoms and to reach caregivers ways to provide for your care

Social Worker

Emotional support, counseling, and guidance to the patient and family in coping with stress realted to the illness.

Attending Physician

Patients can designate an Attending Physician to manage their care, or they can choose the hospice Medical Director.

Home Health Aide

Home Health aide services are provided under the supervision of a registered nurse to patients who have a need for personal care on a part-time basis. Our aides have had experience in caring for people in need and have been carefully chosen to provide care for the patients of the hospice.

Hospice Medical Director

The Hospice Director oversees the treatment by the hospice team, coordination witht he attenfing physicians and is available for consultation.
